Cookie Policy
Last updated · July 13, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Tase (“we”, “our”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies — such as local storage and IndexedDB — on tase.app. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Modern web apps like Tase also use browser storage (local storage and IndexedDB), which serves the same purposes: remembering who you are, what you chose, and how the site is used. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these technologies.
2. Categories we use
Essential
Required for the site to work: signing you in, keeping your session active, protecting the service from abuse, and remembering your cookie choice itself. These cannot be switched off — without them, core features like your account simply don’t function. Essential storage is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional service.
Analytics
Optional. With your consent, we use a small amount of product analytics to understand which parts of Tase get the most use so we can improve them. Analytics never runs if you decline — the analytics library is not even initialized on your device.
Marketing
Not currently used. Tase does not set advertising cookies, does not use cross-site tracking, and does not sell or share your data with ad networks. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
3. What we store
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session (Firebase Auth) | Essential | Keeps you signed in to your Tase account between visits. Stored in browser storage (IndexedDB / local storage). | Until you sign out |
| tase_cookie_consent | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don’t ask again. Stored in local storage. | Persistent (until you clear site data) |
| Analytics identifiers | Analytics | Anonymous usage measurement (which pages and features are used) via our analytics provider. Only set after you accept analytics in the consent banner. | Up to 2 years |
4. How consent works
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics. Your choice is stored on your device:
- Accept — analytics runs and the banner doesn’t appear again.
- Decline (or dismissing the banner) — analytics is switched off for this device and never initializes.
Essential storage is used regardless of this choice, because the site cannot function without it.
5. Changing your mind
Your consent choice lives on the device you made it on. To reset it, clear your browser’s site data for tase.app (usually under Settings → Privacy → Site data). The consent banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently. You can also block or delete cookies entirely through your browser’s settings — note that blocking essential storage will prevent you from staying signed in.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add a new category of storage. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where the change is material, ask for consent again.
