Troubleshooting

The app will not open or crashes

If Tase crashes on launch or mid-use, work through these steps: force-quit, update, restart, and reinstall. Most crashes resolve in the first two.

If Tase crashes on launch or while you are using it, the cause is almost always a stale app state or an outdated version. Work through these steps in order and stop when the issue resolves. Most crashes are fixed by the first two steps.

Step 1: Force-quit and reopen

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view recent apps, swipe Tase off the screen to close it fully, then tap the icon to reopen. This clears temporary state and resolves most one-time crashes.

Step 2: Update the app

Open the App Store, search for Tase, and check if an Update button appears. If it does, install it. Many crashes are caused by bugs that have already been fixed in a newer version. After updating, reopen the app.

Step 3: Restart your iPhone

Hold the side button and a volume button, then slide to power off. Wait a few seconds, turn the phone back on, and open Tase. A restart clears system-level issues that can cause app instability.

Step 4: Reinstall the app

If none of the above worked, delete Tase (press and hold the icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App) and reinstall it from the App Store. Your data is stored in the cloud, so signing back in restores everything. This fixes deep corruption that a force-quit cannot.

Your data is safe

Deleting and reinstalling the app does not delete your account. All tasks, budgets, and memories are in the cloud. Sign back in with the same method and everything reappears.
The app crashes every time I open a specific screen. What should I do?+

Force-quit and update first. If it persists, note which screen triggers the crash and email support@tase.app with the details. Include your iOS version so the team can reproduce it.

Will reinstalling delete my data?+

No. Your data is synced to your account in the cloud. Reinstalling and signing back in restores everything. Just make sure you remember your sign-in method.

The app is stuck on the loading screen. How do I fix it?+

Check your internet connection first. If you are online, force-quit and reopen. If it still hangs, uninstall and reinstall. A stuck loading screen usually means a corrupted local cache.
