How to log an expense
Log spending in seconds by voice, by typing, or from a task reward. Every expense counts against your budget automatically.
Logging an expense takes a few seconds and keeps your budget honest. Tase gives you three ways to do it: voice (fastest), manual entry, and automatic from task rewards. Pick whichever fits the moment.
Log by voice
Tap the voice button and say something like "I just spent 14 dollars on lunch" or "Log 45 dollars for gas." Tase parses the amount and category and adds it instantly. Voice is the fastest method when you are on the go.
Log manually
- 1
Open the Finance tab
Tap Finance in the bottom tab bar. - 2
Tap the plus button
Tap the plus icon in the expenses section. - 3
Enter the details
Type the amount, pick or type a category, and add an optional note. You can also attach a date if the expense was from a different day. - 4
Save
Tap Save. The expense is deducted from your remaining budget immediately.
Log income the same way
To log income instead of spending, tap Income at the top of the Finance tab, then use the same plus button. Income increases your available balance for the month.
Log right after you spend
Can I edit or delete an expense after logging it?+
Yes. Tap any expense in the Finance list to open it, then edit the amount, category, or note. Tap the trash icon to delete. Your budget updates immediately.
What categories can I use?+
Tase suggests common categories like groceries, dining, transport, and bills. You can also type any custom category name and Tase remembers it for next time.
Can I log expenses from past dates?+
Yes. When creating an expense manually, tap the date field and choose any day. Voice logging uses today by default.
