How to set a monthly budget

Create a budget in the Finance tab, pick a monthly limit, and let Tase track every expense against it automatically.

A budget turns vague spending anxiety into a clear number. Once you set a monthly limit, Tase shows how much you have left in real time as you log expenses. You can adjust the number any time without losing history.

Create your first budget

  1. 1

    Open the Finance tab

Tap Finance in the bottom tab bar.
  2. 2

    Tap Set Budget

If you have never set a budget, a prompt appears at the top of the screen. Tap it to begin.
  3. 3

    Enter a monthly limit

Type the total amount you want to spend this month. You can also set category limits like groceries, dining, or transport.
  4. 4

    Save

Tap Save. Tase immediately shows your remaining balance and starts tracking expenses against the limit.

Adjust or remove a budget

Tap the budget card in the Finance tab, then Edit. Change the amount, add or remove category limits, or delete the budget entirely. Past expenses remain in your history regardless of budget changes.

Start with one number

If you are new to budgeting, set a single monthly total before adding category limits. One number is easier to stick to and gives you a baseline before getting more specific.
Does Tase connect to my bank?+

No. Tase uses manual entry and voice logging so you stay in full control of your financial data. There is no bank connection or automatic transaction import.

What happens when I go over budget?+

Tase shows the overspend in red and sends an optional notification. There are no penalties or blocked transactions; it is an awareness tool, not a restriction.

Do budgets reset every month?+

Yes. Budgets reset on the first of each month. Your expense history from previous months stays available so you can compare spending over time.
