How to stop a running agent

Changed your mind? Open the agents view, find the running job, and tap Stop. The agent halts and partial work is discarded.

The Tase TeamTase LLC1 min read

If you start an agent and realize you do not need the result, or the instruction was not quite right, you can stop it at any time. Stopping halts the agent immediately and discards any partial work. Nothing is committed to your account until you review the finished output.

Stop an agent

  1. 1

    Open the agents view

Tap the Agents icon or go to the main screen and find the active agent indicator.
  2. 2

    Find the running agent

Active agents appear at the top of the list with a running status badge.
  3. 3

    Tap Stop

Tap the Stop button on the agent card. Confirm when prompted.
  4. 4

    Confirm it stopped

The status badge changes to Stopped. No further actions are taken by that agent.

Stopping discards progress

When you stop an agent, any partial research or drafting it produced is discarded. You cannot resume a stopped agent; you would need to start a new one.
What if I just want to edit the instruction instead of stopping?+

You cannot edit an instruction mid-run. Stop the current agent and start a new one with the corrected instruction. The original instruction is saved in your history for reference.

Does stopping an agent cost anything?+

Agents use compute while running, but stopping prevents further use. You are not charged extra for stopping; it simply ends the session.

The Stop button is unresponsive. What do I do?+

Check your internet connection. If the agent cannot reach the server to confirm the stop, it may keep running locally. Force-quitting and reopening the app clears any stuck state.
