Sync issues between devices
If changes on one device do not appear on another, the cause is usually a connection or account mismatch. Here is how to diagnose and fix it.
Tase syncs changes in real time across all your devices. When something does not appear, the cause is almost always one of three things: you are signed into different accounts, a device is offline, or the app is running an old cached state. Work through the checks below.
Check you are on the same account
Open Settings on both devices and confirm the email shown under Account matches. If one device signed in with Google and the other with email, they may be different accounts even if the email looks similar. Sign out and back in with the same method on both.
Check your connection
Sync requires an active internet connection. If the device where changes are missing is on a weak network or in airplane mode, it will not receive updates until it reconnects. Toggle Wi-Fi off and on, or switch between Wi-Fi and cellular, then wait a few seconds.
Force a refresh
- 1
Pull to refresh
On the screen where data is missing (Tasks, Finance, Brain), pull down from the top and release. This triggers a fresh fetch from the server. - 2
Force-quit and reopen
If pull-to-refresh does not help, force-quit the app and reopen it. This re-establishes the sync connection. - 3
Check for updates
Make sure both devices run the latest app version. An outdated version may use an older sync protocol that does not pick up newer changes.
Sync is near-instant
I made a change offline. Will it sync when I reconnect?+
Yes. Changes made offline are queued locally and uploaded automatically once the device reconnects. You do not need to do anything; just make sure the app stays installed and you sign back in.
Can two people share a Tase account?+
Tase accounts are designed for individual use. Two people editing the same account simultaneously can cause sync conflicts. Each person should use their own account.
I see duplicate tasks after syncing. Why?+
This can happen if the same change is captured on two devices before they sync. Delete the duplicate manually. If it recurs consistently, email support@tase.app with details.
