Plan your week with a brain dump

A ten-minute Sunday ritual: speak everything on your mind, let Tase sort it into tasks, goals, and notes, then shape the week in one five-minute review.

Weekly planning fails when it starts with a blank list and a vague sense of dread. It works when it starts with everything already on the table. That is what a brain dump is for: empty your head first, organize second. With voice capture the whole ritual takes about ten minutes, and most of that is just talking.

When to do it

Sunday evening or Monday morning, same time each week. Pair it with something you already do, like the first coffee, so the ritual has an anchor.

The ritual, step by step

  1. 1

    Dump everything, out loud

Open Tase and just talk, one item per sentence: "Book the dentist." "Finish the budget review Thursday." "Idea: weekend trip for mom’s birthday." "I owe Alex a call." Do not organize while you speak. The only goal is an empty head; five minutes of talking usually surfaces 15 to 25 items.
  2. 2

    Let the sorting happen

Each sentence lands where it belongs: dated items become tasks with due dates, money items land in finance, ideas and facts go to your Brain as notes. You skipped the part of planning most people quit at, which is filing.
  3. 3

    Review for five minutes

Open your tasks and scan what landed. Give dateless tasks a day, or say "move the dentist call to Tuesday". Kill anything that stopped mattering. Ask "what is on my list this week?" to hear the shape of the week back.
  4. 4

    Pick the three that matter

From everything on the table, choose the three items that would make the week a win and pin them to the top of your attention: "My top task tomorrow is the budget review." A week with three priorities survives contact with reality; a week with fifteen does not.

Phrases that work

  • "Remind me to submit the expense report Friday morning."
  • "Add a task to renew the car insurance this month."
  • "Note: the new neighbor’s name is Priya, moved in from Austin."
  • "What does my week look like?"

The first week feels like a novelty. By the third week the Sunday dump becomes the moment the mental noise stops, and the plan that comes out of it is built from your actual life instead of whatever you happened to remember at a desk.

Empty your head in five minutes

Speak your week and Tase turns it into tasks, notes, and reminders you can actually act on.
