Offload the mental load

The running list in your head — appointments, errands, the small daily things — captured by voice the moment you think of it, before it slips.

The Tase TeamTase LLC3 min read

Add "dentist for the kids Friday 3pm", remind me to buy a birthday gift, and start a water habit.

  • Reminders and tasks from one spoken sentence
  • Habits and streaks for the things that should stick
  • Quests and rewards that make the routine feel won
  • Nothing lost between school run and bedtime

The mental load is not the tasks. It is holding the tasks — the background process that remembers the dentist, the gift, the form that needs signing, the fact that you are nearly out of the cereal only one child will eat. It runs all day and it is the reason you are tired in a way that a to-do list never quite explains.

Most task apps assume you will sit down and enter things. That moment does not exist. Everything you need to capture arrives while you are driving, cooking, or halfway up the stairs with a laundry basket, and if capture costs more than a sentence it does not happen.

Say it in the doorway

The sentence at the top of this page produces three different things: a dated appointment, an undated reminder that will keep nudging until the gift is bought, and a daily habit. One breath, three items out of your head and into somewhere they will be handled.

"Friday 3pm" is parsed the way you said it. You do not open a date picker, you do not choose a list, and you do not decide up front whether this is a task or an event — which is exactly the friction that makes people give up and go back to trusting their memory.

  • Appointments with real dates and times, from ordinary phrasing
  • Reminders that persist rather than expire quietly at midnight
  • Recurring things — bin day, meds, the weekly form — set once
  • Notes and lists for the errands that have no date but do have a deadline

The things that should stick

Habits are the part of the household load that is nobody's emergency and therefore never happens. Water, the walk, the ten minutes of reading. Tase tracks them as streaks, which is a small enough hook to be honest — it works because breaking a run of nine days is annoying, not because a chart guilts you.

Tasks can also run as quests with rewards you set yourself. It is deliberately light: the routine work of a household is genuinely relentless, and something that marks a week as won is worth more than another notification telling you what is overdue.

Voice is the point on a phone

Capture works fastest spoken, hands-free, in the two seconds before the thought is gone. Typing works too — but the reason this survives a real week is that it does not require your hands or your attention.

It remembers the household, not just the list

The durable facts — who is in the family, the school schedule, which kid has the allergy, when the car is due — settle into your Brain and shape later answers. That is what stops you re-explaining the same context every time you ask for help planning a week.

  • Appointments and errands captured between the school run and bedtime
  • A weekly plan built against what is actually already booked
  • Habits for the small things nobody else will chase
  • Spending and health for yourself, in the same app, when you finally get to it
Does it work hands-free?+

Yes — voice capture is the primary way this use case gets used, and it is the reason things get logged at all on a bad day.

Can I share a list with a partner?+

Partially. Tase is a personal assistant, so your account is yours; there is early sharing for specific things rather than a full shared family workspace.

Will it nag me?+

Only where you asked it to. Reminders and habit nudges are yours to set and switch off, and there is no engagement streak pushing notifications you did not ask for.

What if I say something ambiguous?+

You see each item as it is created, so a misheard date is fixed in the moment rather than discovered when you miss the appointment.
