Finance Tracking

Expenses, income, budgets, recurring payments and connected accounts — so the question "can I afford this" has an answer that takes one sentence.

  • Log an expense by saying it, categorised automatically
  • Budgets that track against real spending, not intentions
  • Connect a bank or card so transactions arrive on their own
  • Recurring payments and upcoming bills in one view

Personal finance tools mostly produce charts. Charts are retrospective, and the moment you actually need a number is before you spend, standing in a shop, deciding.

Tase is built for that moment. Ask what is left for eating out this week and you get a number from your real transactions, not a category average.

Two ways money gets in

  • Connect a bank or card and transactions arrive on their own
  • Or say it — "forty dollars, groceries" — and it is logged and categorised

Most people end up doing both: the connection covers the card, and voice covers the cash and the things that need a note attached to be worth anything later.

Budgets that are about the present tense

A budget in Tase is a live number, not a monthly post-mortem. It tracks against what you have actually spent and it will tell you when a category is going to run out before the month does.

Recurring payments get their own view, because subscriptions are the category people most reliably underestimate, and the total is usually the number that changes behaviour.

Investments too

Holdings and market values sit alongside spending, so net position is one place rather than an exercise in adding up screenshots.

What you would actually use it for

  • Deciding, in a shop, whether this is a good idea
  • Finding the subscriptions you forgot you were paying for
  • Knowing what a month actually costs, rather than what you assume
  • Having a runway number when income is irregular
Is connecting a bank safe?+

The connection is handled by a specialist provider and Tase never sees your bank credentials. You can disconnect at any time.

Do I have to connect an account?+

No. Manual logging works completely on its own, and plenty of people prefer it.

Which currencies are supported?+

You pick your currency in Settings, and amounts are formatted for it throughout.

Can it categorise automatically?+

Yes, and you can correct it. Corrections stick.
