Tasks and Rewards

Say what needs doing and it becomes a task. Recurring schedules, subtasks and reminders included — plus a reward you actually want at the end of it.

  • Create a task by saying it, not by filling in a form
  • Recurring schedules, subtasks and reminders
  • Schedule tasks into a day and see the plan
  • Set a real reward and earn it by finishing things

Every task app is good at holding tasks and bad at getting them in. The friction is entirely at capture: a form with a title, a date, a project and a priority, standing between you and a thought that took two seconds to have.

In Tase you say the sentence. "Call the dentist Tuesday morning" becomes a task on Tuesday morning. That is the entire interaction.

It handles the boring structure

  • Recurring tasks, for the things that come back
  • Subtasks, when one line turns out to be six
  • Reminders that arrive when they are useful
  • Scheduling into a specific block of a specific day

You can ask it to plan a day and it will propose one, which you accept or ignore. It proposes rather than imposes, because a plan you did not agree to is a plan you will not follow.

Rewards, and why they are not points

Points are not motivating because points are not worth anything. Tase lets you set a real reward — a thing you actually want, with a real price — and finishing tasks is how you get to it.

You can describe the reward in a sentence and it will find a price and a picture for it. The result is a goal you can see, rather than a number that goes up.

The point is momentum

The reward system exists to make the first week survivable. Most productivity systems die on day nine, and a thing you want at the end of it is the cheapest defence anyone has found.

What you would actually use it for

  • Capturing something in the two seconds you have before you forget
  • Breaking a project you have been avoiding into things you can start
  • Seeing a realistic version of today rather than an aspirational one
  • Actually finishing a stretch of unglamorous work
Does it work with my existing task app?+

Tase connects to Apple Reminders on iPhone, so tasks can live in both. Other integrations are on the roadmap.

Can I create a task without talking?+

Yes — type it, or add it the ordinary way. Voice is the fast path, not the only one.

What happens to a recurring task I keep skipping?+

It keeps appearing, and the pattern shows up in your history. The app does not hide the fact that something is not working.

Are rewards required?+

No. Ignore them entirely and the task side works exactly the same.
